Benefits of Root Canal Treatment
Wednesday 17th March 2021
Root canal treatment or endodontic therapy is an important procedure used by dentists to save teeth and to avoid unnecessary extractions. Root canal treatment is virtually painless and often leaves you with less discomfort during recovery than if you have your natural tooth extracted. Thanks to modern techniques and effective anaesthesia. One of the biggest benefits of root canal treatment is that it gets rid of pain and infection in the mouth. The treatment relieves pressure from inflammation in the pulp of the tooth and within a day or two after treatment, patients can get back to living their lives, without tooth pain. Root canal treatment involves removal of the inflamed or infected pulp, and disinfection of the tooth affected. Afterwards, the tooth is restored with a crown or filling for protection and will continue to function like any other tooth. The whole process is performed under anaesthesia so patients are comfortable and relaxed. Root canal therapy is a dental option that helps save your tooth, so you do not have to worry about losing a tooth or having a gap between teeth. After the root canal treatment, your tooth will return to a healthy condition and will function like any other tooth. BrightSmile Dental & Aesthetic Clinic provides an easy, safe, effective and successful endodontic treatment that will restore your beautiful smile. We use state-of-the-art technology, microscope, and the latest anaesthetic techniques that will ensure a comfortable procedure. Root canal is a process of removing an infected or severely inflamed nerve tissue from the roots of a tooth. If left untreated, an infected or severely inflamed nerve tissue can cause an abscess. An abscess may show on an X-ray as a dark spot or radiolucency at the apex of the root. This is actually bone loss in the jaw. It is very important to treat this problem before it deteriorates. We are proud of our specialty Doctor in Endodontics Dr. Irene Soriano, who uses an operating microscope to conduct root canal treatment. Endodontics: microscopic root canal treatment
Wednesday 24th April 2013
Modern endodontic treatment makes it possible to save a tooth in which the nerve, commonly referred to as the pulp, is diseased, e.g. by infection or inflammation due to tooth decay. By means of microscopic root canal treatment even a tooth whose nerve is irreversibly damaged can be preserved and the bone can return to normal. Teeth may have one to three roots with up to three root canals each, which contain the pulp. Some of these canals are as thin as a hair. For root canal treatment to be successful it is important to detect and treat all root canals. One of the most revolutionary developments in the field of endodontics is the operating microscope, which provides extreme magnification. This makes it possible to identify and treat even minute structures and problem areas. Thus pain can be minimized and excellent long-term results achieved. We are proud of our specialty Doctor in Endodontics Dr. Irene Soriano, who uses an operating microscope to conduct root canal treatment (see photo).
